MEETING WITH PARISHONERS AND ALL INVOLVED IN MINISTERIES

A short general meeting with parishioners and all involved or who would like to get involved in ministries (readers, ministers, choirs, flower arrangers, collectors, sacristans, parents of servers) will take place in each church in the coming weeks, after the evening Mass for the Holy Souls Novena. This is just an opportunity to thank all involved in ministries, how I or the diocese can help support these roles, and to encourage more parishioners to become involved and play an active part in their parish. Everyone is welcome to see how we can grow our parish community across our local parish churches.

Newcastle: Tuesday 1 November: 7.30pm

Grange: Wednesday 2 November: 7.30pm

Ballybacon: Thursday 3 November: 7.30pm

Ardfinnan: Monday 7 November 7.30pm

Fourmilewater: Tuesday 8 November 7.30pm

ARDFINNAN CHURCH MAINTENANCE

Thank you for your patience last week while works took place in Ardfinnan Church. As well as the laying of carpet tiles, and a new carpet on the sanctuary, which were in urgent need of replacing due to wear and tear, some other adjustments were made to the ambo, presiders chair, and some maintenance to our sound system.

You may notice as well, we have now set up an Altar to the Sacred Heart on the left-hand side of the entrance, and St Anthony has been moved to the main body of

the church with a new and safer votive candle stand. The icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help also has its own area in the Prayer Room which can also be used as an open confessional. The Confessional on the right-hand Side of the church has also had work done on it so it maintains its function in the years ahead.

This has been done in consultation with a number of parishioners and the parish council, and special thanks to the BN&B CE Scheme team who assisted in moving the benches to make the work much easier. We hope you like the improvements made to your local church, which has been supported through donations made to the Parish and Development Fund.

We can now have two families at one time – but would ask that each family only bring a maximum of 15 people with them, to keep us all safe.

God bless, and keep safe!
