A pastoral letter has been issued by Bishop Cullinan to all parishes to discuss the realities of the challenges facing parishes across our diocese and country. The letter asks parishes to plan ahead in maintaining meaningful and pastoral liturgies whilst also acknowledging the lack of priests and numbers in parishes which cannot be sustained in the long term. Please take a copy of the letter to read. Our parish councils will meet in the coming week to discuss his request. In the New Year further discussions and ideas will be discussed in order to continue to provide and maintain the sacramental life of our parish churches in new challenging times for the future.

CAHIR CREDIT UNION will be carrying out renovations to the Cahir offices. To facilitate this work the Cahir offices will be closed from Friday 18th Nov at 2.00pm and will reopen on Tuesday 28th Nov 2023 at 9.30.  

During the renovation works, we will offer our usual services from our Ardfinnan sub office. Opening hours as follows: Tues 9.30 to 4.30, Wed 9.30 to 4.30, Thurs 9.30 to 4.30 Fri 9.30 to 5.00,  Sat 9.30 to 1.00. We will operate these hours in Ardfinnan from Sat 18th of November until Saturday the 25th of November inclusive.

Christmas Craft Show on Sunday 19th November 11am-1pm Arts, Crafts, gifts and Christmas treats. Your Support is greatly appreciated, and everyone is welcome! 

 

On Saturday 25th of November, the commission have organised a morning of reflection for Ministers of the Word, as we prepare for Advent & Christmas.  This reflection will be held in St. Mary’s Abbey, Glencairn, with Mother Marie Fahy as the facilitator.  The spaces are limited to 20. Next weekend, we welcome many of our 2nd Class students and their parents to the second gathering of our ‘Grow In Love’ parish Masses.  The children and their parents will be involved from time to time in the readings, offertory, and other reflections at our community weekend Mass, in preparation of them receiving their First Penance and First Holy Communion in the spring. 

We remember all our young parishioners as they prepare for these wonderful sacraments in their lives, and their families.
