NEWCASTLE & ARDFINNAN COMMUNITY ALERT AND AN GARDA SIOCHANA together with Property Marking Ireland will host a property marking Day in the coming week. The Property Marking machine etches your Eircode into your property and allows An Garda Siochana to return stolen property to its rightful owner, Please bring your items you wish to have marked along with your Eircode, All items from laptops to Phones, Bikes, Power tools, trailers etc can all be marked.

ARDFINNAN & BALLYBACON ROOF UPDATE
Many thanks for your contributions of €2,830 towards our recent Rood Repair Appeal. This will help to pay the €20,000 estimated costs to repair the roof area in the sacristy / office which began this week. There were also repairs done to the slate damage in Ballybacon from the recent storm which we are applying to pay for through the insurance. Thanks to all those who assisted and got the job done as soon as possible.

There is great excitement in the school as we prepare for the first ever LIVE Ireland’s Fittest School finale in Dublin on May 24th to find Ireland Fittest School 2024!
In preparation we have put together a booklet of exercises so everyone in the family can take part in the fun. The exercises help to keep us fit and active in an enjoyable way. 

ARDFINNAN FAMILY FUN DAY
Saturday 15th June from 1pm with many attractions and entertainment for all the family. Proceeds go towards the Ardfinnan Community Centre.
*PLEASE NOTE – to facilitate parishioners and those attending, our Masses that weekend will be:

SONGS OF PRAISE SERVICE in Old St. Marys Church of Ireland , Clonmel, on Sunday 19th May at 3pm
Our Parishioners have nominated their favourite hymns and the 8 most popular will be sung on the day. There will be refreshments after the service. Everyone welcome!

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION DAY
CONGRATULATION to the boys and girls in Grange and Touraneena NS who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday.
Best wishes and prayers to our students in Ballymacarbry who are receiving their First Holy Communion next Saturday 18th May at 11am with some making it in The Nire on Sunday 26th May.

MONTH OF MAY
May is the month to remember Mary in a special way. The Blessed Virgin Mary offered the disciples her prayers, motherly care, and witness. She continues to offer us her motherly love and intercession. During this month of May, let us rediscover her maternal role in each of our lives.

PETITIONS TO PADRE PIO
Fr Michael is going on a private pilgrimage at the end of May to San Giovanni and the shrine of Padre Pio. If you would like a petition placed near the tomb of Padre Pio, you can drop it in or post it to the Parish Office, Ardfinnan, with PETITION written on the envelope. 

EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT-

This takes place in our parishes on:
Tuesday’s 10-11am in Ardfinnan
Friday’s 2.30-3.30 in Newcastle

Everyone is welcome to come and spend some time in quiet prayer and adoration.
