MISSION SUNDAY
This year World Mission Sunday is 20th October 2024.
World Mission Sunday is the Holy Father’s annual appeal for spiritual and financial support so that the life-giving work of overseas mission and missionaries can continue. It always falls on the second last Sunday in October, and like the Good Friday collection for the Holy Land and Peter’s Pence, it is one of three yearly universal Church collections.
Envelopes are in the weekly boxes, and extra envelope’s will be available in the churches. Thank you as usual for your generous support.
GROW IN LOVE SACRAMENTAL MASSES
This weekend, we welcome many of our 2nd Class students and their parents to the first gathering of our ‘Grow in Love’ parish masses. The children and their parents will be involved from time to time in the readings, offertory, and other reflections at our community weekend Mass, in preparation of them receiving their First Penance & Holy Communion in the spring. Masses in which 6th Class will be involved are 5pm Saturday- Newcastle /6.30pm Saturday – Ardfinnan / 9am Sunday – Fourmilewater 10.30am Sunday- Grange.

Newcastle Community First Responders would like to acknowledge the kind contributions of the parishioners of the parishes toward our church gate collection held last weekend and also the support and assistance of Fr Michael, Fr Jim and Fr Frawley. We are truly grateful Monies raised will go toward the upkeep of our Defibrillators. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. Go raibh mile maith agat.
MEMORIAL CONCENT FOR FR JOE BRACKEN
Ballymacarbry Community Centre – Friday 15th November 2024 at 7.30pm Local choirs, musicians singers and instrumentalists will perform music by fr. Bracken with many personal memories of him on the night Everyone welcome.
SLIABH GCUA SET CLUB are holding a monster Céilí in the community centre, Touraneena, Sunday 20 Oct 3-6pm. Chi €5 Adult €10 – Refreshments served – everyone welcome
ARDFINNAN COMMUNITY COUNCIL will hold a Church gate collection on Sat 26th and Sunday 27th October to raise funds for the Senior Citizens Christmas Party which will be held on Sunday December 8th.

…are also holding a ‘Do It For Declan’ fundraiser BBQ and entertainment day on Sunday 20th October from 1.30pm. Any help greatly appreciated.
